My MCI8080 has started freezing all the time the last few days. The sound will stop and the display gets stuck. Buttons and remote control do nothing. The only way I can unfreeze it is to switch off the power. :mad:
It's pretty much unusable as is. It has always froze intermittently since I bought it but barely works at all now.
The software is up to date. Anyone any suggestions on how to fix this?
I'd try restoring factory settings:
Restore factory settings
You can restore MCi8080 to factory settings.
All your settings are removed, including the
settings of network, sound, display, clock, alarm
1 Go to [Settings] > [Restore factory
2 As prompted, select [Yes].
» The unit is turned off.
» The unit is turned on again
automatically when the factory settings
» Start the first-time setup
If this doesn't help-> service...
Hope this helps,

I experienced the same problems of stability with the original firmware (V7.56S) (unplug, format HD, ...) but last FW revision (V8.02S) seems to be more stable.
There is still this "freeze problem" with FLAC...
Philips says they are working on the problem, but I sometime doubt of it!
Can someone from Philips announce a date for the release? I hope there is a schedule for the development teams...
