I have kind of same problem as in the earlier posts. My DCM580 finds the update file from USB and starts to upgrade. But after upgrade when "DONE"- message appears to the display, my player goes "nuts". The "DONE" message stays on the display whatever I do... It's on the display even on the standby mode. Only way to get rid of this is to plug-out AC cord and put it back. After unplugging I can check the update from my player, and it says V45. BUT still... iPhone 3GS with latest iOS 5 dont work with the player.
Please help me.
Is there any other way to restart the system after upgrade than plugging off the cord?

Hi Dansarj, Naikke and skinnyj,

Kind regards,

Hi Odiace,
I'm sorry to hear you are still having issues despite upgrading. There should not be an issue when running iOS 5.01 on your iPhone4 after upgrading your DCM580 software.
Please do a hard reset on your iPhone and make sure that there are no apps running in the background when docked.
If you are still having the same issue I would please suggest contacting your local customer support team for further help:

Hi Remko
I get this unzipped file but it didnt work either. Still saying "no file" after inserted that usb stick. I wonder if I should get first older update, because my DCM580 show it has "MLC 8805-11/16 1/42" when testing firmware version from it?

Hi again.
Now I get it working, with new USB stick:) I think everything is ok now and my wife (with new iPhone 4S) and my daughter with her iPhone 4 are happy, they both have iOS5 and they didnt work earlier.

Hi. After trying to update the DCM 580 for hours and trying absolutely everything I finally found out what was wrong. My laptop wrote a file to my usb stick, syncguid.dat. I could not remove it. If I deleted it, after a few seconds it was there again. On every usb stick i entered. I found out that there is a software called Syncables that was preinstalled on my ASUS laptop. It gererates the file on every usb stick I use. I uninstalled the software and I could delete the file syncguid.dat. Now the upgrade was successful and my Iphone 3GS works with the DCM 580 again. :)

ios 5.1.1
After successfully updating to ios5 several month ago, the question is if it is 'safe' to update my iPod Touch to the newly released ios 5.1.1. I am afraid to experience similar problems again.
Does anyone knows already?
-
Hello,
Unfortunatelly i did the iphone upgrade to 5.1.1 and the DCM 580 does not work anymore, the DCM580 is no more recognized by the iphone 4G IOS 5.1.1 so same issue than last year when i upgraded it to IOS 5.
I contacted the support but no feedback from them, i hope that i am not the only one and that the support is working on this issue.
Brgds.

I have read through absolutely everything on this forum, and Iīm even more confused than ever. I bought my DCM580 today, and immediately I had problems getting my iPhone connected. As it appears, itīs Appleīs update iOS5 that causes these problems. From what I can read here, Philips has not yet been able to solve this problem for everyone. First of all - I use a mac. Would it be better then, if someone at Philips sent me the file on e-mail? Second - on the philips home page I cannot find this update/firmware. I have followed the link(s) these kind people have posted on this forum. I have found one link (old) that is supposed to appear as a large zip.file, but doesnīt. Then there is another link (more recent) that actually has the zipped file, and when I unzip it, itīs seems to be same file as before. I have tried having a friend unzipping it for me on a PC through Win, and mailing it to me (and i dragged it directly to my USB). Still, after all this - No file appears.
Is there a cure for this? I have spent the past 4 hours trying to solve this crap, and Iīm getting tired of it. So, if thereīs a chance that this could work, please mail me the right file and I will try to mount it to my USB. And yeah, Iīve made absolutely sure that my USB is formated without any hidden files. The format I use is MS-DOS (FAT) - is this correct? Mac user, Norway. Thanks everyone.

hi ogull,
the firmware can be downloaded here: http://www.p4c.philips.com/cgi-bin/d...=Link_Software . Version 45 is the right one.
Since you said you are using a MAC, there maybe some issue with USB drive formatting. (As it requires the USB has absolutely nothing inside but the firmware file). This is the experience from all the MAC users here that this doesnt work. If you have a PC, maybe you can try using that.
If this doesnt work, you can call your local support to ask them to send you a small USB drive with the firmware in it. Hope this helps.
