Hi Frank,
All I can find about Google TV is that you need a special settop box and that is not available yet. I wonder if you can use this for free or if you have to pay for using it. Will it support all the local catch-up TV programs in various countries or is this USA only? It seems you can simply “google” the internet for playable video’s so that looks promising. Is there a PC-version where I can try Google TV?
Net TV is free and the amount of services is growing. Today it is the best you can get in a TV, I suppose?
What brands offer more internet functionality in a TV that I can buy in a shop today?
Regards, John.
Google TV explanation
Samsung has now build a Net TV like service. But they still have less services/applications. Samsung
at the moment net tv is the best solution to bring internet to tv. especially it's open url input.
but i think google tv is going further. they want to offer all their services in a tv readable format and make it possible to control them with a tv remote. that is what i want. a seemless integration from the web (and other network recources) into tv. as far as i found sony will be the first and only who integrates google tv. i think they need some kind of pc technologie in their tv's to make this happen. in the moment the service will be available only in the us but i think it doesn't take long to have this in europe. google has much experience with android, chrome and chrome os so google tv is a born winner. and: it doesnt' matter very much that i have to pay 2,500 without a atom pc inside or 2,600 within. see also http://www.fastcompany.com/1603110/p...evision-google
