Hey Jörg. Thank you very much for your effort! I'm crossing my fingers that Philips will finally solve this very annoying bugs!
I have bought an Philips 47pfl7606 lcd with a CI+ @smit interface. My cable company is Ziggo. When I pass trough the sound via the optical cable (toslink) to my external receiver, the sound stutters every few seconds. This is only on some channnels (for sure on Ned1, Ned 2, Ned 3 and Sbs6). When I switch the sound to the speakers of my Lcd the sound is fine.
I read users with the same issue on several forums! I have the latest firmware Q5551_0.14.95.0.
A workaround is to have sound through the lcds speakers, but that is of course not a solution. Has someone a solution for this issue?
since a couple of days i have a CI+ CAM with HD+ Card to decrypte the german private HD Channels of ASTRA SES 19,2 ° East. At first everything was alright but ofter some days the following happend:
When i watch these HD Channels for example there are soundrops ( on Dolby Digital ) every two minutes or more often and there are really really bad artefacts (picture errors ) every few seconds. So watching TV on these channels doesn´t make fun at all!
Hi Guys
can you please check if that is solved with 14.96.
Thanks
Thomas
Hi Philips - Thomas:
I have noticed a change in behaviour. Prior to fw 14.96 you would see the Encrypted Channel message and the screen would stay black now you see the message abut after a while you get an image.
So I think it is somehow related to the decryption of the channel, that failes. @Philips - Thomas: did Philips now implement a retry after decryption failure?
It seems to be like this:
I don't know why the decryption fails, maybe it's related to the startup sequence, maybe decryption starts too soon, even before the TV completely switched to a new frequency it seems. Maybe Philips - Thomas can share some info with us.
- previous behaviour: decrypt channel --> failure --> "Encrypted channel" message --> black screen
- new behaviour: decrypt channel --> failure --> "Encrypted channel" message --> new retry --> decryption successfull --> image on screen
Hi!
The problem is not solved yet, unfortunately. I was chatting with Mrs. Seifert today, the lady has no technical knowledge. Problem is not known and CI interface is only power supply....no comment!

Hi,
I have the same problem - even with the newest software. And I have two different cases:
1.) 32PFL7606 with @smit CI+ module and Kabel Deutschland card:
-> sometimes when I switch to an encrypted channel I get the "encrypted channel" message. Screen stays black. When I switch again to that channel, everything works fine.
2.) 37PFL7606 with MASCOM AlphaCryptLight module and an old K2 card from Kabel Deutschland:
-> When I start the device, everything works fine. After half an hour or more, when I switch from a functioning encrypted channel to an unencrypted channel and back - I get the error message like "You are not allowed to see this channel". When I turn the TV off and on again The channel shows up without error. The same when I unplug and re-plug the module - the current channel can be viewed. But when I just change the channel on the TV, I get the error message again. Unusable! After some hours TV off, everything is ok again. It seems as if the failure gets harder the longer it is online (heat problem?).
Regards
Andreas
Hi Andreas,
good advice @heat. I´ve experienced the same with that artefacts. At first the picture i just fine but after watching a while these picture failures starts to begin and when one touch the CI+Module you can feel that it is heated up, not hot, but really really warm!
Hello experts ..
Here is a Philips 40PFL5806K/02 (firmware 0.14.95.0) SKY with CI + module in use. Works great. Only Saturdays after the Sky Soccer-Conference losing encryption on SKY HD1 and "Scrambled Channel" will be displayed. A short back and forth solves the problem and everything works again.
A Sky engineer, with whom I spoke had no solution at hand. He wanted to call back tomorrow. Possibly. Sky, a new CI will be sent.
The Options button to select "Common Interface" is not active (I can´t choose)
Has anyone possibly similar problem?
Soo .. I´ve seen above, that this is an Philips Firmware-Problem?!
Thank you
Timo
I had the CI+-problem only once after the update - at that occurence I can confirm this behaviour, too!
OK, CI+-problem seems to be solved (at least for me).
Thanks!
