microtheater dcd322/12 - iPhone Issue

Hi - I just purchased a microtheater dcd322/12.

I have connected the component audio out connectors to an amplifier which works fine for everything except the iPod dock.

The Ipod dock & my iphone 3GS work fine through the speakers that came with the system but do not seem to work through the amplifier - unless you turn the volume of the amplifier up to full (not normally reccommended)- then you can just about hear the Ipod.

I have checked the volume on the iPhone is up full so its not that.

Am I missing a setting somewhere or is it just an unfortunate feature of the system that it wont play iPhone sound through the composite audio output

Anyway read the manual cover to cover and seems there is no component audio out feature for the ipod dock - even though there is for every other source on the unit - and - there is component audio out for the ipod dock - makes no sense to me and spoils what is very much a great little unit when linked to an amplifier
