BDP3280/12 AVCHD/Blu-Ray playback problem

Hi,

I recorded many videos from german television with my dreambox.
When I put the ts-files onto a usb flash drive or burn them on DVD/Blu Ray (data disc) everything plays fine.
MKV works fine too, seems to be fixed a while ago.

When I create an AVCHD-DVD or Blu-Ray from the same recordings the video is stuttering extremly.
It happens with all 720p footage, 1080i is okay.

I figured out a couple of things:

- the 3280/12 is able to play Main@L4.0 content
- it can play AVCHD/BR files from usb drive
You have to create a folder "AVCHD" to root of USB flash drive and into that folder copy the BDMV directory.

Relating to the AVCHD/Blu-Ray playback problem, I noticed that it has nothing to do with 720p or 1080i. I recorded some 720p stuff from Austrian and Swiss TV channels and they work fine (mkv and AVCHD)

Therefore I think the AVCHD/Blu-Ray playback problem with german television has to do with:

Did you try with a different framerate already?

No, I want to avoid reencoding the video.

I understand that but looking at the other thread when user did this it solved the problem....worth a try and to let us know the outcome

hi there,
when i look into the codec table (your model is a 2011 model), it only support these video formats:
Attachment 1043

hence, ts, bdav, may not be supported. also when you look at the frame rate, it's from 6-30. here you have 50. so this may lead to playability issue.

i also share the same thought with oscar, maybe you hv to convert/ encode your files again.

Well, ts works fine, bdav works fine too, except for most of the german tv stuff (bdav container (m2ts) = avchd, blu ray format).

As you can see, the only entry missing is:
Format settings, GOP : M=16, N=32

This has to be the problem, not the frame rate, file format, container or whatever.
Exactly the same issue as mentioned in the old thread.

In some german boards it's already called "philips gop issue" ;)
