Could any one tell me if it is possible to replace the DVD/Tuner from this system with the blu ray player using the amp in the subwoofer to power the existing speakers.

Mmm.....donīt think the answer will be here :) If you donīt care paying for it and trying ( you loose your warranty ofcourse) then try it
