My (new) 42PFL7606H arrived with firmware 14.096.
I tried to update to 14.098 yesterday via internet but got the message that there is no newer version available. This is not correct.
I have now updated to 14.098 by using a USB stick, and this worked fine.
Did I do something wrong or is this a shortcoming in the product?

not all updates are provided via Internet update - so, you need to check the support website...

I own a 46PFL9706 and the internet update feature on this model NEVER-EVER shows that a new update is available. I always upgrade manually by checking the website once in a while. I wonder why the feature is even implemented in the firmware.
@Northguy: True, the internet update has never worked for me as well. But then, I don't actually have any machine (also from other companies than Philips) which really does that over the Internet (although a few would provide it), except for ones running OpenSource software ;).
