No volume control on S/Pdif coaxial digital output

55pfl4706 TV.
Philips sound bar.

There is seamingly no way to set the volume of the soundbar. The TV menu has no way to set the volume control to the S/pdif. The level is fixed and super loud out of the Coaxial digital jack.

Please help.

I dont have a cable box or any other place to hook this up. The internal audio on the tv is the definition of crap. we cant even hear it enough to watch tv. Philips told us to buy the sound bar and now we cant figure a way to set the volume!
