Last week i upgraded via internet my bdp 5500. System starts but directly hangs. On device led screen stays in "hello", tv screen gives not centralized start image including "philips" banner. Question: is there any solution to re install firmware as none of the keys or remote are working?

try to unplug power cord for 2-3 minutes... and restart again.
Did you leave a disc inside?

Aaargh. Indeed there was a disc in the player. Is there any possible action to restore this or do you need to go through the service proces?
No way to restore this.....service
Performing a firmware upgrade while having accidentally left a disc inside the unit is enough to brick it?? :eek:
