we hv a new upgrade v1.14 recently, you can do it via Songbird.
- Start Songbird
- Connect your device
- Click on the name of your device in the left pane of Songbird
- Click on 'Update my player' in the main frame.

I tried to record FM radio, and it was mono (not stereo) and in a very bad sound quality. I would have preferred it sounded like a Mp3 128kbps, and but it is terribly ; almost impossible to listen to.

so what i understand is that the recording quality will be more or less like the quality of listening to the FM. It will not be as clear as like mp3, no 'upscaling' effect.
can this be because of the reception? and have you unplug your earphone when recording?
Quality of recording ISN'T more or less FM radio. Radio is ok, very clear; recording is not stereo and in a very bad sound quality. Tell me where and I will send you an example (1 wav file) just to listen to and hear.
My songbird can't see the new firmware update. I have the 1.11 and sonbird says that my player is updated.
If you are using Windows 7, right click on the Songbird icon and click "run as administrator". This should allow you to see the update options when you connect your player. Worked for me.
Sorry, doesn't work in this way too. It says that the device is already updated (1.11)
