Supportet video codecs
I got informations that the 2012 BDP`s of Philips support video codecs H264/AVC up to High Profile @ Level 5.1. Is there a chance for older Players like BDP8000 to be updated for supporting this level or some other newer codecs? Is there a list of all supported codecs for BDP8000 ?

Thank you for information. So there is no possibility for updating PDB8000 to support AVC HiP@5.1 encoded videos in future?!
I found out, that changing the AVC Level of the H264 video file from 5.1 to 4.1 (using H264LevelEditor) does the job in most (all) cases. Just without recoding the video. Is there any danger in doing so?

No there isnīt. If it might cause issues then yes recode the video...
For the update donīt count on that

One more question: Is it possible to play 3D videos from connected USB device or which 3D formats are supported. I successfully tried SBS and TB videos but failed with frame packed (frame sequential?) videos. My Toshiba (WL863G) manual tells, there has to be some auto detect information coming with the signal, then the TV will switch automatically to 3D playback. Is this additional information sent by BDP8000 when playing a 3D FP video from USB device or only when reproduced from BluRay disk? Or have I to change some settings?
