In.Sight B120 stops listening and turns Night vision off

I just received the In.Sight Wireless HD monitor B120, I'm using it with my iPhone 5.

I love the idea but our first night has had a few issues.

1) The night vision turns off about 25 minutes and I'm left looking at a black screen unless I exit the app, go back out to the monitor list and re-choose my monitor (which takes about 5 minutes)

2) The 'always listening' turns itself off, which when I am sleeping defeats the ENTIRE purpose of the monitor. I woke at 4am and the monitor was still listening.. when I woke at 8.30 to the distant screams of my baby, the sound was no longer coming from my phone

3) When i turn the volume down to about 2 notches (because the white noise is SO loud) it stops listening

I really want to keep this monitor as the concept is great but at this point if it continues to function like this I won't be.

Hello, you have installed the latest version of the app already not?

It's possible your monitor is getting booted off your wifi network.. This happens to mine all the time with a BT Hub.. been very unreliable... Indeed, it's possible this is happening with your iphone 5 itself, it does to mine often when the lock screen kicks in. There was a wifi fix in ios 6.01 and yet another in ios 6.0.2 - whether this has resolved it all, I don't know..

Thank you both for the replies - I downloaded the app on Christmas day (it's version 2.2.0) and my ios is at 6.0.2

I really want it to work - these problems have persisted every night (to the point I'm using my old cheap Tomy monitor as well so I can at least hear my baby in the morning!) My phone doesn't appear to be getting kicked off but I don't know how to know that for sure? It would be great if the app reconnected in the event that happens?

I'd love to find a fix as when it works it's fantastic

when you pick your phone up after it has been on lock screen and unlock it, do you see just the 3G symbol or is the wireless symbol still there? very often my wifi is gone, though it connects again quickly. You'll have to look carefully if this is happening as you don't actually lose internet connection.. but if the phone is switching off the local network, that might cause the app to get confused.

Likewise, you need to do everything possible to ensure a clean and clear wifi signal - such as trying different channels. If you have any repeaters or additional networks running, this could cause a problem - it has for me.

good point, I'm pretty sure it's still on wifi but I'll double check to be certain in the middle of the night. We actually just upgraded our router to an Airport Extreme - wireless N 5 GHz network, so it should be v reliable.

FYI wifi was definitely still connected when I looked at my phone in middle of the night (but the monitor wasn't connected)

The described behavior - night vision turns off about 25 mins - is normal. However, after it turns off, it should be returning to the menu of the app. You can re-launch the night vision from there and do not need to quit the app and start everything again.

This is a issue we first heard about. Would you please check if your router can set the IP as static instead of dynamic? This can help the router rebooting/ resetting issue.

WE cannot reproduce the issue here. Would you please advise if you are still experiencing this issue or this is just an ad hoc incident?

Sorry it has taken me so long to reply
1) I find I have to switch between auto and ON when I return to the app even when it's only been on for a few minutes - it can take up to a minute to turn on, which again, is frustrating when you are trying to see what is causing your baby to cry
2) we have a static address within our home, not one night for the almost 4 weeks I have owned this monitor has it stayed on all night. I have returned to using our £35 Tomy 'listening' monitor so that I can be sure I will hear my son. I've been using the Philips monitor as a check-in if an unusual noise comes over the Tomy. Completely pointless for such an expensive piece of equipment
3) this hasn't happened again, apologies, I assume it was something I was reading wrong.

Are these issues likely to be fixed or should I give up hope and return my monitor now. I love the concept of video on my iphone but right now this is NOT answering the need.
