My new Sony netbox did this when I first set it up.

I had it connected to the router and had Wi Fi enabled, when I unplugged the network cable and used it through Wi Fi iplayer then worked.

Thank goodness for this forum - I nearly sent back my Blu Ray Player and "Faulty Disc" I just got from Amazon because of the juddering sound - never thought it would be the TV's fault.
