Correct. I got it back and the problems seems to be solved. I still need to test it properly.
There are more topics about this so called vertical banding. Philips has now repaired my TV for the third time. I'll get it back this Monday and hope it is OK this time but I doubt it.
Unfortunately Philips decided a third rapair is required after all. Today the TV will be taken by E-Care to have it properly tested. I get a 32" TV as a temporary replacement. It should not take more...
The thing is that this problem only presented itself since a few months and it became worse and worse.
It might have to do with one of the many software updates.
The fact that the vertical lines on...
After being sent from pillar to post I finally got in contact with somebody from Philips who promised me that this will get solved properly in order to get a good working TV. This might very well...
I have exact the same problem. Also after replacing the LCD screen the issues are not gone and even became worse. I've started a topic on this as well:...
Philips has stated that a third visit form the repair service is required in order to start a different procedure.
I've forwarded this to E-Care but unfortunately I haven't received a reply as yet....
My TV has been suffering from 2 vertical dark lines since a couple of months. These lines show up at darker scenes and especially with a grey back ground and with sidewards camera panning (football)....
Yes, yes and yes (tried both HDMI 1.3 and 1.4)
I have not tested it with other devices (I don't have spare Yamaha receivers and Philips TV's laying around you know).
As more people are suffering...
Another user who is having problems with ARC, please Philips, get this fixed ASAP! It is not working with my 47PFL7605H and Yamaha RX-V671 either (both support ARC).
Did you try using the headphones output (if present at all)? I did the same in order to connect my TV with my old 5.1 surround set (no HDMI/Digital inputs).
With standard audio format you have no 5.1 codecs but only stereo! Switching to standard audio should not be the solution for this problem. Philips should fix this so you can enjoy to the original...
Philips has been lacking in customer relations lately.
I've lost my faith completely and I'll never ever going to buy a Philips product again.
And no, this is not just because this basic feature...
The reason why I suspect it to be the TV is the fact that other people experiencing problems with this TV. Especially the audio department is known to be faulty (like the drop-out problems). ARC is...
Shouldn't Philips test these things? I guess calling the tech support would be the best thing to do as I am experiencing audio drop outs via SPDIF Coax.
Same here.
Since I've connected my 46PFL7605H12 (FW .046 and using CI+) to my new Yamaha RX-V671 AV (Latest FW) receiver I experience audio drop-outs. The TV is connected with coax digital audio...
In case you mean HDMI-Control with CEC the Yamaha does not say anything about connected devices. HDMI Control + ARC is switched on though.
OK, thanks. I believe I did all this but I wil try this again tonight.
Edit:
No luck so far. I need to get this fixed as my current SPDIF connection gives audio drop outs :(
All the answers on the questions can be found in my first post but I'll answer them anyway ;)
I've seen several people on various fora (AVS forum, Tweakers.net and here) with similar problems...
All signals to the TV (HDMI 1) are fine. I just don't get audio return.
TV reports: "Connecting to amplifier failed - activating TV speakers"'
When I'm using a SPDIF digital audio coax cable...
Where and to whom has it been reported to? Where can we get any updates on this?
That does not work for me either. In order to see (or switch to) the receiver's OSD I need the receiver being in the TV's home menu. It does not switch automatically. In fact, I don't see any...
You are right. Although the info regarding ARC in the FAQ on hdmi.org is somewhat misleading and reads as ARC was introduced with HDMI 1.4
I've got a similar problem: http://www.supportforum.philips.com/en/showthread.php?4626-Can-t-ARC-get-to-work-on-AV-Receiver&p=26398
No messages appear on my receiver though. Using a HDMI 1.4 cable...
Strange that it is mentioned in my manual as our TV's are from the same year.
