I doubt it.
Haven't upgraded yet, but - as always - I'm curious to see if the new firmware will fix some of the more annoying problems. The last one did nothing to the freeze issue...
Does anybody know if the new firmware will fix some of the actual problems this player has?
Some freezes can actually be avoided by simply waiting. I've had problems when toggling subtitles - either between different languages or simply on/off.
If you are able to refrain...
I take it you refer to the subtitle toggle -> lock-up issue. I will try to send a sample clip/subtitle as soon as possible.
By the way, how about the other issues causing the same behavior?
Thanks for asking. No, it has not been resolved.
I haven't had time to look for, test and edit/upload specific files, but the device keep freezing and locking up.
I made a list of what seems...
I've really never bothered with anything but SubRip text format. The other formats you mention are text based as well, I suppose?
All the Philips players I've owned have supported image-based subs...
Yes, issue is permanent and affects both my devices. Also NOT limited to MKV - same thing happens to AVI containers.
As mentioned previously also not limitied to plain text subs, but also affects...
I agree totally. The number of apps on this device leaves a lot to be desired.
Last night I counted close to 200 apps on my Sony TV. Go figure.
Overall I would say the start-up freezes have greatly improved/virtually disappeared with the last two firmwares, which is great.
BUT external subtitle support seems to have disappeared too! The...
I had time to do some tests last night: Same issue on both devices.
When toggling external (.srt) subs (SUB buttonon remote control) device freezes.
Serial numbers are: KX 1A1 30 99 66 037...
I now realize why I was able to post, and why everything was deleted...
I managed to post prior to 17 Oct. (other members too), but the posts were deleted.
Nevermind. I hope the forum works now. :)
Yes, I got 2.
I will try and let you know the result.
Steve, I can confirm that the reset settings, as mentioned by Oscar, is the way to go.
Last week I had the same issue as described above and in other posts (phone working, no Skype service, no...
Yup. I can confirm that the reset settings is the way to go. Last week I had the same issue as described above and in other posts (phone working, no Skype service, no Skype icon, no red light on base...
I think you got the dates wrong (+ the forum was down for much longer than just a week.) I posted in several threads the last couple of weeks and everyhting just disappeared including PMs to/from...
That's a very good question indeed. I don't have a receipt, but have only had the device(s) for a couple of months and they were picked up directly in the Philips shop.
If you suspect a...
Well, I have the latest firmware (2.10) and can confirm it does absolutely nothing to solve the freeze issues. E.g. I cannot load/switch an external subtitle file on or off without the device...
Will do. Thanks.
I only manage to get x4 speed. Anything faster and the player crashes.
My experience is that this feature - fast forward/rewind and/or chapters/time search do not work very well when you stream.
Yes, it works. Not very well, but it works.
Oh, and you have to select Serviio's "default" DLNA profile. NOT the Philips profile, which it will automatically select for you.
Thanks. Yes, it's all enabled. But subs still doesn't work - embedded or external. They do work when I stream to my Sony Bravia, so it's most likely a Philips issue.
