It's possible, but I've never seen it in real life before. There is an HDMI standard that allows one device to control another. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HDMI#CEC
I know this must be a common question, but my Google-fu has failed me. I have a 40PFL7705DV/F7. If I put my TV in "PC Mode", there is no overscan, but the colors are all washed out and look terrible....
Colored buttons are also used for certain functions on blu-ray players. But I wasn't sure why a non-programmable remote for a TV with no blu-ray drive would have them. Thanks Thomas :)
