apologies to all , i mentioned problems with my HMP5000 in dec/january, Philips solved the problem and did send me a new one!!!
great service from Philips, however i did not update to new firmware...

yes that is correct, HTS is connected with HDMI-Arc.
does that solve a part of the problem you described?
most TV sets have stereo or a dolby sound system , but not DTS, so you always...

i have HMP 5000, connected byHDMI to tv and optical to HTS surround sysem, i do not get delay on sound compared to movie.
i play from harddisk, mkv and h264 files.
also i found in the options the...

i do not recognize this failure, sometimes when i want to skip a chapter and go forward i get the same message.
just restart the video helps with me.

i purchased my mediaplayer 31st december , and it worked 1 day , then i downloaded new firmware (while still connected to Philips TV 42PFL5405H) and on restart it calls for invalid HDMI key.
