HDMI ARC for 42PFL7357/V7 - attention PHILIPS
Hi, PHILIPS,
I bought one 3D LED TV 42PFL7357/V7 (serial no. 110612119003100046) in August 2012 at Kolkata, INDIA.
I found in FAQ section of your website that HDMI ARC feature is available in this model.
However, your customer care informed me that the said feature is not available in this model.
I am confused and now in dilema to buy one HDMI ARC equipped home theatre system.
Please update me at the earliest.
Regards,
Abhijit Das

I too have bought the same Philips TV (42PFL7357/v7), and I believe that there is no HDMI ARC feature. The TV does not have 'ARC' labeled on HDMI-1 connector (or even on HDMI-2/3). I believe the FAQ on the Philips website does not correspond to the specific model 42PFL7357/v7.
I have a Philips HTB3560 home theatre supporting ARC, and the ARC feature does not work with the TV.

Related question: Were you able to get the HDMI-CEC feature working ? I connected both TV & Home Theatre with HDMI and enabled 'EasyLink' feature in both devices, but they don't discover each other (EasyLink->Device List -> is always empty).

Unfortunately, I have not yet bought any home theatre system till now as I was waiting to get the full information. I am in a delema now. However, if you navigate PHILIPS website, you can see that HDMI ARC feature is shown in FAQ section which is specific for the model and it comes under model 42PFL7357/V7. There it is written that the same feature is available. I will definitely update you if I find any solution.

Dont forget the HDMI ARC bug, wich makes multichannel Dolby and DTS audio unusable on the HTS when it gets passed thrue the TV to HDMI (ARC) or Toslink on all 2011 and 2012 TV Models.
(I just bought a HTS system without knowing it. I can only use DTS and Dolby audio with devices connected to the HTS. Digital TV stations or Smart-TV apps wich send DTS or Dolby will cause unusable audio drops)
