Can I record through the SMART TV Plus of the BDP 9700 via USB?
Would the SMART TVPlus incorporated in the Philips Blu Ray reader BDP9700 allow me to record a tv programme via USB ?
If the answer is yes, could I record one channel on the blu ray reader and watch another on my TV at same time?
Thanx

Too bad...
Why Philips is not producing Blu Ray readers with incorporated HDD then?

I'm not an expert in Electronics but I do know that my mother (age 70) from her Samsung blu ray recorder can record her favourite tv programmes, burn her into cds and see it on the PC...
furthermore I see that on the market there are brands like LG HR925D-Panasonic DMR BST 721 that sell blu ray readers + recorders with HDD incorporated ...I guess the source you mention should be the same as theirs.
Or are you telling me that these devices cannot record anymore for some recent laws?
I was waiting before buying these other brands because I hoped Philips did something similar...and I don't understand why this is not possible...

Hi,
such recorders do have internal TV tuners... this is the source which you can of course record. However, Philips does not offer recorders anymore... and the BDP9700 is only a player...
