BDP2900 DVD playback problem

I got my BDP2900/f7 5 months ago. It plays Blurays well. But I've just discovered that it will not play DVDs. I feel like at some point in the past it was able to play DVDs, but I can't definitively recall playing one on this device before noticing this problem. Either way, for certainly the last week, it is not correctly reading DVDs.

Sometimes the machine will try to read the DVD for a few minutes and then state "Unknown disc." Other times, the device will start to play the DVD, but playback will be heavily pixelated and choppy before ultimately freezing.

Is this a known problem?

I updated to the most current firmware with no improvement. Then just to verify, reverted to default factory settings without improvement.

Any help would be appreciated. The little ones want to play their Pixar DVDs.

Hi there, for unknown disc you will need service as this is a loader issue.
