    Feedback Troubleshooting MCI500H

    Hi all,
here is a feedback about my problem of the flashing led red.
My MCI500 is 4 years old.

For holidays, I unplugged (electrical plug) the MCI500H/12 for a week. When I came back, I plugged it. At this moment, the power button started to flash in red only.

I tried many things before it restarts:

    1) long push on power button
    2) unplug , waiting around 30 sec that the power button stops flashing, re-plug and push power button
    3) push during 30 sec the power button, unplug during 30 min, and plug. Push the power button
    4) unplug , waiting around 30 sec that the power button stops flashing. Then, I press continuously the power button and at the same time I plug the electrical plug.

The last try worked. I don't know if it's a combination of all things, but it worked. I cross the fingers that it keeps working for a long time.

    Another feedback:
When I leave my house for holidays, and I unplug the MCI500 for a week (or more), I experienced problems.
When I let the MCI500 plugged to the electrical network (even during holidays), I don't have problems.

    Hope it will help !

It definitely worked to me! I had the same problem with my MCI 500H and was almost convicted to dispose it, while I tried to plug and unplug several times and it resurrected!
    Now it works smoothly!
    Thanks lazkike!

I come back for another feedback.
I encountered the same problem (again) of the red button flashing as I described above. I tried all my thing I didn't work.
Finally, a good friend mine resolved the problem. She is an electronic engineer. She changed a capacitor.
She found the solution on a web site. I will post the link soon.
Now, I cross the fingers ! hope it will last for a couple of years.

hello, for the flashing Philips MCI500, I located the problem on the power supply Chinese Kingwall PS131.
I replaced the electrolytic capacitor C004 (Black) 22microfarad value equivalent to a 25v 64V. this corresponds to the pins 7 and 8 of the chip to the above; the negative on pin 8.
I do not have a scheme, be difficult to weld, it works, good luck

I'll take my old soldering iron and try to do the job! Hope it'll solve the problem.
Thanks again also for the translation!
