    AD7000W and IOS8

I have an Phillips AD7000W speaker that used to work perfectly.

However, since the IOS8 upgrade we've been experiencing problems streaming music to the speaker. The speaker appears in the AirPlay icon on the iPhone but when you select it the speaker plays around 2 seconds of music and then seems to reboot (I'm guessing the speaker reboots because the LED flashes and then a couple of minutes later it beeps to indicate it's connected to the WiFi again).

I've searched these forums and found there was an outstanding firmware upgrade so I've applied that but it doesn't seem to of made a difference. I have an iPhone 5S and my wife has an Iphone6, both have the latest IOS8 updates but both experience exactly the same symptoms.

I have BT Infinity with a HomeHub5 and as far as I can see there's no way to force a firmware upgrade so I can only assume BT keep it up to date automatically.

Anyone else experienced this and come up with a fix?? The speaker is a great piece of kit but unless I can get it working ASAP I may have to defect and treat the Mrs to an Apple speaker or SONOS for Xmas!!

    Any help gratefully recevied!

    Hi Rafal,

I actually contacted you a few weeks ago and you provided the latest version of firmware. I applied the update to the speaker but the problems are still occurring.

Has there been a subsequent firmware release?

I'm currently running version s9110.102.1010 which is dated 2012-04-15

I've PM'd you, if there's a more recent version could you send me a copy please.

    Hello,

The firmware fix I had sent you is the latest version and should fix the connectivity issues.

Does your router use firewall? How many devices are connected to the router? You may want to disable firewall and all devices connected to the network and check again.

    Kind regards,

Hi - There's usually 4 or 5 devices connected to the WiFi but I disconnected them all with the exception of the speaker and 1 iPhone but the problem still occurred.

I have a BT Home Hub 5 and just checked the settings but there doesn't appear to be a setting to switch the firewall feature off.

    Any other idea's?

    Hello,

Try connecting your iPhone via USB connection and see if that works.

Tried that and it works fine when connected via USB.

This isn't a good workaround though as we like to be able to use it wireless from other rooms.

Any other idea's?? I have a Wireless router which I plan to try tomorrow to see if that solves the issue. It won't be ideal because it's hardcoded to my previous ISP so won't connect to the internet, however, if I can get the wireless configured and then connect the speaker and an iPhone and it all works fine then this should prove it's an issue with my BT Router??

OK - I'm now convinced that this problem is being caused by the BT HomeHub5 router.

I powered up my spare LinkSys WAG120N wireless router and connected the Phillips speaker and my iPhone to it. I then streamed music from the iPhone to the speak with no problems at all!

I configured the LinkSys Wireless for WPA2 authentication and AES encryption. I can see that the BT HomeHub does WPA2 authentication but there's no options for encryption and I can't find any details out. I'm wondering if the HomeHub5 and the Wireless Speaker have incompatible encryption methods??

    Hello,

I think your BT router is switched to WEP and that is the reason for streaming problem. Please reset wireless settings to default (WPA) and try again.

    This post may help you:

I've checked the router again and it's set to WPA2. I tried changing this to WPA and tried the speaker and iPhone again but the problem persisted!!

I've also set the WLAN setting to be 802.11b/g only but this didn't make any difference.

The Channel was also originally set to auto-select but I manually changed it to CH11, this made no difference either.

    Any more ideas??

    Hello,

The problem must be in the BT router because your other router works fine.

Please change security settings to WEP and see if that works.

    Kind regards,

Thanks for the fast response. I installed the firmware, but unfortunately it did't fix the issue.

Again after some minutes, the device looses the network. I this case I have to reinstall the network which just work for another couple of minutes. Disappointing!

    Do you have any idea?
