Push-to-talk disables sound?
When I enable the mic feature to talk to the monitor it mutes the sound coming to my iPhone (from the monitor). Is this by design? If so, can I disable it so that I can hear how the baby is reacting to what I say?

yes, it is by design that way. it should be the same also for the walkie talkie. One way communication.
you just have to tab the button again after your talk to disable the talk mode so as to listen to your baby's reaction ... that doesnt fit your needs?

fair enough but considering how sluggish the app and buttons can be why not make it a hold to talk button instead of a toggle. So rather than tapping it once to enable talk and tapping it again to disable talk why not press and hold and then release when you're done talking.
