Will my TV work in Canada
I have a Philips Cineos 37PF9731D, we are moving to Canada in 3 weeks time and want to know if there is anything we can do to this tv to convert it to the 110v that are supplied in Canada. Is it simply just changing the plug, or will it not work? Thanks.

Dear VickyNew,
in the manual of your TV set, it is mentioned that the allowed supply voltages (and frequency) are printed on a label on the back side of the TV. So maybe you should simply have a look there.
A lot of modern devices are build for 110 to 230 V and 50 to 60 Hz; But please have a look at your device if this is also true for your TV.

Thanks bta,
I have looked at the sticker and it says 220-240v ~50hz.
So I'm guessing this means that there is no way I can use it in Canada?

Dear VickyNew,
no, obviously the TV is only build for Europe with our nominal 230 V / 50 Hz power supply.
So two possibilities:
1.) sell your tv at ebay an buy a new one at Canada
2.) ask Philips if they can replace a internal part, in order to run the tv at 110V/60Hz
BTW: I'm not sure if the TV can handle the broadcast formats that are used in Canada.
Regards
