kind of usb to use

i bought an philips pfl 4007 h.

my question is if i can use smart TV with any wifi usb or is it only possible with the philips pta 01 usb???
please let me know.

To my knowledge, neither of the two:

- I heard that it is possible to use other wifi USB dongles with the TV ...
- ... but only if they use the same wifi chip as the Philips one

This is a driver issue: the TV needs to supply the correct driver for the dongle. If the driver is not available, it will not work.

The Philips one is therefore the safest bet - they know which drivers their TV supports. If you want to use another one, buy from a source with a friendly return policy, so that you don't end up with a piece of kit the you cannot use.

When googling for supported dongles, make sure that you use recent posts: sometimes, suppliers change chipsets in their products, and stuff that was supported in the previous generation suddenly stops working.
