Phillips BDP3200 Bluray Player - Frozen
Hello,
After a few months of not using it I decided to watch a Bluray the other day. But upon starting up the BDP3200, it would load to the Home screen, it says its loading, then it just freezes. None of the buttons work, remote has no effect, I cannot do anything. Its frozen. I tried unplugging it but the same result occurs.
This is somewhat annoying as its practically brand new.
Can anyone help?
Regards

Exactly the same problem!
I have exactly the same problem!
BDP 3200 - not used for several months
Switch on and it hangs/freezes on the home screen, unresponsive to front panel buttons or remote.
Any insights on how to solve the problem?
Is there a way to update or reset the firmware without access to the settings menu?
Anyone else experienced the same symptoms?

Does this happened to any particularly Blu-rays discs guys, or when did/does the unit freeze?
I had a similar problem on one player. I unplugged the player, booth from mains and TV and left it for about 10-15 minutes before I reconnected the two units. I updated the software and luckily I manage it get it going. In my case it seemed to have been old software in connection with a newer Blu-ray disc that created a conflict.

Bad news if yours has the same problem as mine. I managed to open the drive using the release switch and put in a CDR with a downloaded firmware update on it, thinking that reinstalling the firmware may solve the problem. Alas, the drive refuses to spring into life and doesn't even try to read the disc. Out of several restarts it did once wake up enough to close the drive door and briefly whirr, but no joy on that plan.
My investigation did unearth the service manual, though it doesn't include a troubleshoot for the exact problem we have.
Anyway, unless anyone has any other bright ideas, I'm off to get a replacement player.
