    Only stereo on HDMI? No 5.1 passthrough? What TV/BD-models?

    Both my pfl9705 and pfl9707 does DD 5.1 passthrough from BD to coax or optical - like many other (ARC?) TVs. This is convenient when using a non-hdmi receiver plus you get perfect audio sync. But both bdp7500 and 7700 "goes stereo" (only, downmixed?). BDP7600 works fine though. Any comments? See thread http://www.supportforum.philips.com/...VD)-models-Why

    Hi,

    this is a BDP bug. For example, this was fixed for BDP5500 (see changelog).

    You mean the shifting to stereo on bdp hdmi is a (non-intended) bug? Nothing to do with copy protection or other intentions to degrade the quality?

    Hi,

    correct. Example:

    BDP<-HDMI->TV<-SPDIF->Receiver

    - old BDP5500 firmware only 2.0 Dolby Stereo was received on TV
    - new BDP5500 firmware 5.1 Dolby Digital is received on TV

    Both: same 5.1 Dolby Digital DVD
