You could check if there is a software upgrade available for your PS2.

Hi,
I never heard of updates for the PS2... - how do you connect your PS2 to your TV?

Hi,
you could open the PS2 graphics settings (put a DVD in the PS2 and open the "dvd player setting") Maybe you need to change some graphics settings... such as RGB or blah...

Hi,
sorry - wrong menue - start the PS2 without any DVD - in the settings you can change the mode (RGB and YPbPr) - maybe this solves your problem...

i talked to someone from the helpdesk who had the same problem and he solved it with a special scardcable with a button on it so he could change between diverend dvd output options.
the same way as in youre ps2 option screen for dvd options.
with the ps3 there wil be no problem like this, it`s the good old ps2 an and a update wil not solve it.
ps2 and my new tv don`t comunicate.
problem solved!

This is a PS2 issue and not a TV issue, just so everyone know. This happens because of the copy-protection built into the PS2 so it's not gonna be possible to record a movie on VCR from the PS2 or something like that.
Anyway, I belive the easiest way to bypass it is to use a component cable and not a SCART cable. The PS3 have the same problem if you use a SCART cable, but you really should use HDMI with the PS3 anyway.
