    Technical feedback - 0.105.0.0 - 40X7, 43X7 & 50X7, 55X7

    Hello,

The new software will be live soon.
Due to our global IT structure, there might be a delay in the uploading to our support websites.

    For details please see here.

    Important:
After upgrading your TV, it is necessary to perform a "cold start". This means that, after the TV is running again (after the update), shut down the TV, wait 1 minute (till all components are shut down), and unplug the TV from the mains (pull power cord) for 2 minutes before starting again.
This thread is for technical feedback only, and any post that is not following the template below will be deleted!

    Unhappy

    Hello,
Now there's a big deal to solve this problem about:
firmware 000.105.000.000 is not recognized by the smart tv 46PFL5507M/08, followed these steps:
-switch off TV for at least 3 minutes
    -remove all usb key
-insert usb flash memory with upgrade firmware on root directory version 000.105.000.000
-switch on TV, waiting 10 minutes.. nothing happen
-Try to install from USB from local upgrades, results "no software found".
-tried same step as above by using test folder in usb, as adviced in forum, but nothing happen!
    Any help?

    TV Model: 46PFL5507/12
    Previous Firmware: 100.00

    Positive:
+ I had no problems installing the new software (nor any of the previous updates either for that matter).
+ While I have not noticed any improvements, I do believe you if you say Youtube performance has improved.

    Negative:
    - The EPG accessible via the Home button now fails to connect to the Philips server the first and sometimes also the second time I try it. This is a new bug since it did not happen with any previous software. Third time is still a charm and connects to the Philip server and displays the EPG. This happens every time the TV is turned on and it does not matter if I try to access the EPG after 1 minute or 60 minutes of TV watching (thus, it is not a matter of the TV not having had the time to start up its network resources). The simplified EPG that only displays the viewed channel works as before, without any hiccup or need for retries.
    - About a week after the update, the TV once refused to turn on. Unplugging it from the mains before trying it again fixed that and has todate not happened again.

    Wishlist for next software version
There is one setting I still miss, which I hope could be easily added. The ability to turn off incoming wake up EasyLink signals - without disabling the EasyLink ARC feature.

Using the HDMI ARC feature means EasyLink must be turned on. However, I would like a subsetting allowing me to use the HDMI ARC feature without allowing other HDMI CEC units to power on the TV (Chromecast, home theater amps).

ARC is usefull and works well. As is the feature that the TV can wake up the home theater amp and change it to TV audio input and turn it off when I turn the TV off. The other way round may sound equally user friendly, but is quite annoying - to me at least. If I disable HMDI CEC on the home theater amp the ARC feature is also disabled. And with HDMI CEC disabled on the home theater amp, the Chromecast connected to the amp still manages to wake up the TV. This is why I believe it is the TV that should have the feature to stop responding to incoming HDMI wake up signals.

    Hello,

I have have a Philips 42PFL4307H, and the same problems described above, and something more:

    - EPG or Smart TV, fails the first time you push the button ('Philips server not found'). If you pussh it a second or third time, then works (veeeeeery slow). It didn't happen before the update.
    - If I switch on my computer (connected by HDMI) BEFORE the TV, the TV hangs (doesn't appear the Philips logo) until I switch off the computer. I have to initiliziate the TV BEFORE the computer if I want it to work.
    - I can't choose any subtitle or language in a mkv file (it works with avi).
    - DLNA doesn't work with most files.

I hope these errors can be corrected before you stop updating the TV.

    Tanks

    TV Model: 32PFL4037H/12
    Previous Firmware: Q554E-0.96.0.0

    Positive:
    + n/a

    Negative:
    - Embedded subtitles inside mkv files cannot be detected/selected and played (USB stick or disk)
    To reproduce problem:
.. Use any .mkv movie with embedded subtitle
.. Open subtitle menu via remote control
.. Subtitle option will be grayed/disabled

    - External subtitles (.srt) are running forward (out of sync) when paired with .mkv files (USB stick or disk)
    To reproduce problem:
.. Use any .mkv movie with embedded subtitle (I don't know what will happen if there are multiple embedded subtitles or no embedded subtitles at all)
.. Download external subtitle (.srt) and put it in same folder
.. Make sure that movie and subtitle have the same name; eg. Movie.mkv, Movie.srt
.. Play the movie and select the subtitle
.. Subtitle will be out of sync (in my case always forward)
.. Same combination of Movie.mkv, Movie.srt is perfectly in sync on any PC player

    - There is no information about total movie/video length (USB Stick or disk)
    To reproduce problem:
    .. Play any movie/video file
.. Press Info button on remote control
.. You'll see movie/video name and very rudimentary progress bar without any info about total movie/video length

    - It is not possible to jump into movie/video (USB stick or disk)
    To reproduce problem:
    .. Play any movie/video file
.. Press Info button on remote control
.. You cannot jump somewhere, eg. on 15th minute, on 55th minute, etc. by entering number via remote control or by sliding up/down progress bar

    - Video stops playing because of unknown glitch (USB stick or disk)
.. I have several movies downloaded from internet
.. Lots of them will play until they reach certain minute/second and then player will simply skip to the end of file
.. That will happen always around the same point; eg. movie_1.avi will always stop on 15th minute +/- 10 second, movie_2.avi will stop on 55th minute +/- 10 second, etc.
.. It is not problem with the USB stick/disk
.. The problem is with bad frame or something...and TV player cannot handle that
.. All problematic movies will play perfectly on PC

    To reproduce problem:
    .. Play any movie/video file
    .. Fast forward the movie
.. It will freeze around problematic point (if there is any)
    .. Try to play movie
.. It will play few more seconds and then skip to the end or it will skip immediately
