DS8800W/37 will not boot up. no lights. nothing.

    Hi,

We've had a DS8800W/37 for a few years now and love the great sound we get from it. In the last few weeks we've noticed it losing connections from airplay devices intermittently and most recently, we can't even turn it on. There are no lights. I've tried moving it around to different outlets that I know are working and I still am not able to turn it on. I've tried holding down the power button for up to 30 seconds or so and still can't get it to turn on.

Is there something wrong with the speaker? or, could it be the power supply?

thanks for any help you can provide.

    mark.

    Hello Mark!
Welcome to the Philips Support Forum!
I’m very happy to read that your device has a good home with you.
When such a device loses its connection to Airplay services we suggest that you do one of the following:
    • Enable the Auto Channel Scan option (if available on the Wi-Fi router).
    • Enable the Wireless Intelligent Stream Handling (WISH) option (if available on the Wi-Fi router).
    • Enable the Quality of Service (QoS) option (if available on the Wi-Fi router).
    • Turn off other home routers.
You also said that it has started to shut off all of a sudden and if I am not mistaken the device has not turned on since last time. I guess you have made sure that the power plug is properly connected so as a last resort could you give this a try?
You pull the plug, Unplug the power cord and wait some seconds. Press the power button and keep it pressed while plugging he power cord in again. Keep it pressed for 10 seconds and see if this helps for this is as similar as it gets to giving your device CPR.
Looking forward to hearing from you again.
    Many regards,
    Philips – Katerina
