Reading external subtitle files (SRT, SUB, USF etc.)

    Hello Philips,

Is there a way my Phlips 42PFL6007 TV can read and show subtitle files when playing a movie with the same filename?

I tried to play a movie from my USB with a SRT-file. I also tried this connecting my NAS by using DLNA.
Both options do not show the subtitles. Is there a way the subtitles will be shown, other than burning the subtitles into the movie file?

When Googling, I can find some answers about Samsung TV's able to read subtitlies, but Philips TV's are not able. Is this information correct?

    Regards,

    Geert

Try PS3 media server. Or create XSUB or Idx/Sub with AVIAddXSubs program. Tell me its work for you

Great! Found it! I just needed to enable the subtitles in the Avi on the TV using the menu "subtitles". Now it's working!

With PS3 I guess for AVI, transcoded to Mpeg or no encoded for MKV HD movies(DTS-HD audio). Good for you but on my BDP5200/12 player not working subtitles. Are you try to create Idx/SUB with AVIAddXSubs program and place in folder on your NAS?
