46PFL9707s: issue with lipsync, please help!
Hello,
So after buying this increadibly expensive TV I am left with this annoying lipsync issue. My setup is the 9707s connected to a Yamaha aventage rx-a1020 using HDMI. Im using several different souces and all of them seem to have the same problem with audio not being in perfect sync with the video.
Im actually quite knowledgeable when it comes to this area and I know whats wrong. The tv is not communicating correctly with the Yamaha reciever. Something there is broken.
If I reconnect my old Sony flatpanel tv (NX720), the sync is perfect. Thus, I conclude that something is wrong with the philips 9707s and its implementation of this essential feature (reporting back the delay to the reciver).
I have installed the latest firmware on my TV (000.150.085.000). It doesnt fix the poblem. Latest firmware on the yamaha as well.
I would really want some sort of response.

@Bonzichrille
welcome to losers club - when tv arrives to your home it is now your problem
Choose 46pfl9707s - my most expensive mistake?!
have you tried option Setup -> TV settings -> Sound -> Audio Out offset?
in case my Yamaha's HDMI1.2 doesn't support audio return channel and tv doesn't contain speakers i choose send audio from STB directly to AV Receiver,
thankfully STB(Dreambox dm8000) have option to set audio delay - have set 100ms

Dear Philips,
I think I deserve some sort of response.
MartiniB, you are misunderstanding my setup. Iam not using the internal digital tuner inside the television. Im using a seperate box that is connected first to my rx-a1020 yamaha reciever through hdmi and then to the philips 9707, again using hdmi.
An auto lipsync feature has been part of the hdmi protocol for quite some time. The tv is supposed to communicate back the reciever what kind of time it is taking to render the picture. This delay is then automatically adjusted within the amp. However, with philips and yamaha this does not work. Something in this communication is broken and Philips needs to communicate this back to their firmware team.
Please philips i am not making this up. The issue exist. Please respond.

Hi Bonzichrilla.
I have had a deeper look into this and this is the reason for the delay in the answer.
If i understand your setup right it's TV(9707)-HDMI- YAMAHA-HDMI- RECEIVER.
As the Yamaha doesn't have a lipsync setting, you have to set this in the receiver.
Alternatively you can also connect cable receiver to tv and tv to Yamaha av receiver, in this setup, the tv will ensure that audio/video is synchrone.
When it comes to the auto lipsync feature, indeed, that is true, if the TV is directly connected to the receiver, but in your case, you got the Yamaha in between. The TV doesn't communicate directly with your AV receiver and therefore cannot automatically make sure your audio and video is in sync.
Best regards,
