USB Devices not recognized in WAS 7500

Hi All.
Has anyone experienced and solved the problem of detection of USB devices in WAS / WAC 7500?

I was using that functionality without problems in my WAS 7500 for over 4 years and suddenly stopped detecting any usb device. However the same USB device on mainframe WAC is detected perfectly. The firmware is version 1.31. And the device meets the conditions specified in the manual, fat32 file system, less than 99 folders, mp3 and wmv files, rights, etc.

Any suggestions?

Hi !
Perhaps it's the power supply in your WAS, it might have gotten "old" and cannot supply enough juice for the USB device your USB storage.
If it's a (mechanical) harddisk, try with a PenDrive (since a PenDrive uses much less power than a mechanical, spinning harddisk).

Thanks Tias. It happens with pendrives. Are the only ones i use with my WAS 7500. It´s a basic mp3 audio device.

So it's a portable MP3 player that appears as a USB mass storage then ?
Well, since it works with your WAC and only shows problems when connected to your WAS, my conclusion is that there must be something wrong in your WAS unit.
Try to connect an externally powered USB hub to your WAS, then connect your MP3 Player to the hub. It might take away a WAS-power-related problem, but I cannot guarantee how compatible a WAS7500 is with USB hubs... Nothing will break trying this though :-)
