Software version: V5.10S has been released
Dear users,
We would like to let you know that we have released a V5.10S firmware for AW1000, AW2000, AW3000, AW5000 & AW9000.
Benefits of the upgrade as below:
• On Spotify online music service, the previous firmware v.4.95S displays incomplete playlist under starred folders. This issue is corrected on this firmware release version.
• Enhanced usability. Song view list now shows 20 or 30 entries compared to 10 entries in previous firmware version.
• Now playing indicator is shown on the home page under Music service.
• Preset station number indicators are shown next to preset internet radio stations.
• Included Network Status Tool for troubleshooting network performance issue. To access to Network Status Tool, go to Services -> Your device -> Settings -> Network status. The Network Status Tool gathers WiFi network statistics and conveys the information into network environment chart. You can improve the performance of network by changing the access point to a channel which has least number of networks. To change the access point channel, please refer to its user manual guide.
For detail upgrade procedure & benefits, kindly refer to the release note here: Software_Readme_File_V5 10S v2.pdf
Kind regards,

Looks like the issues I reported are fixed (I cannot tell for issues reported by other users).
I also see that the network discovery process is working better, AirStudio sees my AW' the first time all the time (that's a real improvement).
I had to reboot (switch off/on) my AW2000 once this morning though, when moving from Spotify to Radios but it might be due to my WIFI.
If major bugs are solved, I would suggest that the next big thing would be to improve the look and feel. The user interface needs to be improved.
Last thing, thank you for above note which gives us a better summary of the release / change content.Last edited by k1200rs; 03-13-2013 at 07:34 AM.

I always face issues when switching from Radios to Spotify or the opposite.
I often need to reboot.
It might be due to my WIFI though, hence I am cautious.

Hi,
often it helps to pull power cord for 2-3 minutes after a successful Firmware update...

Remaining bug:
When you stop playing a Spotify playlist or a radio. You press on the AirStudio the pause/stop button. You then quit the AirStudio application.
The AW2000 and the AW1000 then starts blinking white....
It is then impossible to manually use the AW (to play a radio by pushing on a preset button). It is stuck. The only way out is to reboot the AW.
This is an old bug already mentioned in the past.Last edited by k1200rs; 03-14-2013 at 05:46 AM.

So far no big issues! I hope to test it next weekend. If spotify again works as it should, I'll be an happy man.

Search function improvement
The Search function of the Internet Radio on your Wireless Hi Fi device (AW1000, AW2000, AW3000, AW5000 and AW9000) and Streamium device (NP2500, NP2900, NP3300, NP3500, NP3700, NP3900, MCI8080 and MCI900) has been improved. The partial text string search will now provide the list of entries accordingly. For example, when one types in ‘NDR’ , it will return a list of entries with ‘NDR’ – ‘NDR Info’, ‘NDR2’, etc. instead of an empty list.
Explore and enjoy more music from over 70,000 stations around the globe.
Kind regards,

Since the update my speakers do not function properly anymore!
the sytem is always buffering (the white light keeps blinking) every couple of seconds for a long time. So not listenable anymore! Does not matter if I use Spotify or my I tunes music on my ipad.
I have now switched to my Ipod to be able to listen to music.
The network status is "good", so should be no problem there. I have tried to go to the factorysettings, but the speakers automatically update to this new version, so I am still not able to listen to Spotify.
This is really annoying. I hope Philips can fix this issue!

I recognize this issue. I haven't systematically looked at it, but it appears an buffering issue. The machine (aw2000) freezes and only un- and re-plugging it, allows the receiver to revive. My wifi is stable.
I already mentioned this in the app related forum, but renaming is no longer possible. With the former update the receiver renamed itself (or the app did) to Kitchen and there is no way you can chose another name. With the new update the time between touching rename and the renaming action (to kitchen) seems much faster, I now do not even have time to read the other options (happens both on my galaxy nexus and my nexus 7).

Now, one week later the receiver (aw2000) seems to work fine. I did not have to reset it and both spotify and tunein radio function well (I do not use any other function.) The only issue I noticed is that the sound volume seems to lag more than in did in the previous version. I mainly use the knob on the reciever itself because the volume control in the app is a disaster.
In summary, I am pretty happy with this update, hopefully we will see improvements soon.

Hi,
you can also control the volume by the hardware buttons on your SmartPhone/Tablet... while running the app...

Toengel, I think he / we all know that. Whatever you use, button or the volume bar, there is a lag. From my side, I still have to frequently reboot the AW2000. This might be related to my WIFI but it also means that the AWs don't protect themselves against slow / poor WIFI which reflects low level design gap. It all means that the AW is not usable by the people who are not techies. My wife, as an example.

Toengel. I indeed know that, but thanks for reminding :-). Personally, I think both the knob and the screen should work properly. That also goes for the WiFi. Yes there are work arounds, but that is not where we payed our Euros for.
