    .SRT Support through DLNA

    Hi

Is it official that Philips do not support external subtitles through DLNA?
I tried different servers, like Serviio and my own Synology NAS DS712+, but it does not pick up subtitles.

They are with same name and in same folder.

    Please help.

    Best Regards,

    Tuza

    Hi Tuza.

Yes this is right. We do not support external subtitles over simplyshare (as you refer to as DLNA).

    It works for my BDP7700

If its a external .srt. Try to put it in a container (.mkv works fine)

    For .mkv use MKVToolnix

I'm after basic, simple, hassle-free subtitle support - same way it works with USB or CDR/DVDR media - filename.avi filename.srt.

Beats me why Philps don't support this feature over DLNA...

Problem could be for avi files.
Try .mkv.> Works fine for me, both on my Philips TV and Philips Blue-Ray...

    Avi is old anyway...

To tell you the truth, I'm not having much success using MKV format.

Allright...Might be a support issue then, read the video support specs for your device..
<2012 models have limited support. This is because of the processors used, they need quite some power for 1080p movies. Succes

It's a 2013 model. I was/am hoping it will be fixed with fw update... you know, "avi is old"
