NP 2900/12 no longer streaming BBC radio since

    Good morning,

Since July 11th all BBC radio stations have move over to AudioFactory, apparently as a part of a blanket rethink of the BBC's digital strategy: http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/internet/...Picks#comments and http://www.theguardian.com/technolog...n-bbc-stations.

This has meant that my NP2900 can no longer receive these feeds.

As the BBC stated that they had been working upstream with many hardware manufacturers to prepare their solutions for the cutover to this new format, I had been hoping that Philips would release an update to enable products to process this new format - but so far nothing.

    So,
    - If there is an update coming, can anyone tell me when?
    - Is there any kind of workaround that does not include having to stream from a computer to the streamium device?

I've been using this internet radio for a while now and it is brilliant, with great sound quality, and I really don't want to replace it!

    Thanks,

    BR

    Hello Adc!

I would like to start by welcoming you to the forum!

The changes that BBC has decided to implement have and will unfortunately affect many consumers from a wide array of products and manufacturers.

As Philips, we only support the device and there is not much more we can do when the providers decide to change their streaming to another format that is not supported by the device.

As a temporary solution I did see that BBC will keep on playing MP3ís in a single SHOUTcast. But if you are looking for a more permanent solution other than streaming through the computer, something such as connecting a device like an android phone or an iPhone to a Bluetooth or airplay speaker would allow you to listen to the BBC.

Hope you have a lovely day!

    Kind regards,
    Philips - Katerina
