    Not able to update firmware

    I follow all the instructions in the manual and on-line for updating firmware on my BDP700 blu-ray player, both using a LAN connection and USB flash drive but the machine simply refuses to acknowledge the file. I cannot play some blu-rays at the moment (which play fine on other people's players) and am at a loss as to know what to do, since Phillips support seems non-existent. Regret buyiong Phillips - Panasonic are sooo much better.

    Hi,

    what BDP do you have exactly?

    You USB flash drive should be empty (format with FAT). Then copy the extracted folder+file onto that stick. Should look like:

    USB-Stick:\UPG_ALL\BDP1234.bin

    Thanks Toengel - I'll try again and re-format the drive. Still can't work out why the LAN connection isn't recognised, but thanks for your help.
