Question ID Tag issues on GoGear SA060

The ID tags for the MP3's on my SA060 are not coming up, they're just blank or oriental text so it is just playing one song at time before going back to the main menu. This just happens to albums / songs on the 32Gb SD card but the internal 8Gb memory seems OK. The ID tags are OK on my PC.
    Any ideas anyone?

Hi and welcome to forum! Do you have songbird installed on your PC? If not, install it! Right click on the song(s) that are missing the ID tag, select “View Metadata” and add/change the tag. You might find this link useful, a bit more about Songbird: http://www.p4c.philips.com/cgi-bin/c...scy=SE&slg=ENG

    Hi Cheers for the reply
I have installed Songbird now, it has a tendency to crash all the while when I try to do anything with more about 100 songs (which is why I uninstalled it months ago), and when I did manage to get it to work for a reasonable length of time my 32Gb micro SD card failed, first to only 30.6Mb capacity now my PC doesn't even see it!
I managed to find an old 4Gb micro card knocking about and slowly (100 songs at a time managed to put about 3Gb onto this and the player seems to see all the ID Tags OK, so adding files through Songbird and not though drag 'n' drop seems to have fixed the issue.
I will let you now how I get on with a 32Gb card when I get a new one in case the extra data volume causes the same issue I had before. Also 10,000ish songs at 100 at a time may take a while.
    Once again cheers

Personally I prefer to drag and drop my song on to player, however sometimes Songbird comes in handy! Anytime, happy I could help!

Hi, new 32Gb card and got as far as uploading about 8Gb via Songbird, in spite of numerous crashes. However checked on the player and about half of the albums are again showing nothing or oriental characters for artist name, song etc? Tried both for wma 64kbps and also mp3 64kbps.

The tags are ID3v2.3 & ID3v1.1, ID3v2.4 & ID3v1.0 and also ID3v2.4 & ID3v1.1, I don't think this is the problem as for all three I have folders that play and also don't play?

Looks like I have got a very expensive 8Gb MP3 player, unless you have any other ideas? Maybe I should have gone for the iPod classic!!

    Cheers, hope you can help

If yes, edit the metadata and change it to whatever name you fancy.

    Cheers

    Hi, cheers for the reply.

Yes, I still have the problem.

I am not sure what you mean by changing the metadata? Each individual album has the same ID Tags for album, artist and album artist?

Right click on the song-> view metadata and change the file name to the name you want to have. Nothing else comes to my mind.

    Good luck,
    WW
