WAS6050 - Internet Radio/Cannot connect to Internet Server

    Hi there,

    First post newbie here!

Cannot use the Internet Radio on my WAS6050 - error message says "Cannot connect to internet server".

Apologies if this point has already been raised by many others, but I need to go through the steps here to sort this one out.

    Best,

    Jez

Hi Fendel and welcome to the forum! ok, have you registered your device on MyPhilips and completed the registration there after opening the security link that should have been emailed to you? this is what you need to setup the internet radio account.

    Hi there,

Thanks for the response. I've tried via MyPhilips, but it says

    Please register via your device

Unfortunately, for this specific product, registration via My Philips is not possible.

Any ideas on how to do this or next steps?

    Best,

    Fendel

    Hi !

Typically, the WAS6050 doe snot connect properly unless you have set it up to receive its IP settings automatically (i.e. via DHCP). Have you tried that ?

    Cheers !

    Hola Tias!

    Saludos desde Inglaterra!

I've tried to do this, but truth be told, I've just been guessing at how to do it.

    Menu>Settings>Network?

Any guidance you can give here would be appreciated.

    Best,

    Fendel

i had the same issue with an WAS6050. After selecting the menue point "Internet radio" i got the message "Cannot connect to internet server"
The network settings itselfs was ok (i could connect to the WACS 7500 and to the Internet).

My issue was, that i used manuall settings (LAN and WAN) and the internet connection i did via LAN.

I made a reset, than changed to DHCP-WLAN and after that i was able to connect to the internet server.

After that i got the next problem: "Wrong password"
I solved this issue together with the support here! (reset of my philips registration of WAS 6050 here, than steps see page 19 in documentation)

and now : it works :-)

    Hi Rocco,

    Thanks for the post.

So I would basically need to select Reset - Factory Settings here?

How do I make the change from DHCP-WLAN?

    Best,

    Fendel

    Hi Termina/Rocco,

I am having issue to connect to Internet radio since a few weeks now (See my post "WAS7500 email address") and my issue seems very similar to the one you had: I can see my device (WAS7500) from my laptop, it can connect to the Center, but selecting Internet Radio leads to "Cannot connect to Internet server" message.
I am not an expert in network, but the main conclusion I drawn after reading and re-reading the different messages in this post, is that I have to choose in the "Set IP mode" menu page: "Automatic IP" instead of "Static". Am I right?
The point is that my WLAN connection was already done this way...
I tried to connect trhough LAN (never know?), still setting Automatic IP, but the results is exactly the same: Being able to see my device from my laptop, connection with Center is OK, but Internet radio selection leading to 'Cannot connect to internet server'.
Was my conclusion incorrect? Or would you have any other suggestion?

    Thanks a lot!
