BDP5100 does NOT support profile level 5.1 (.mkv)

Hello again!

I would like to know if philips is doing anything to get this done, cuz i hate it when i download some movie and look at mediainfo and realize that is profile level 5.1. The system tells me unsupported video format.

Is there any way to change profile level from 5.1 to 4.1? That would be very helpful.

Hi Karun,

I have experienced the same issue and google-ing through some web sites in came to this FAQ page:

Here this problem is explained quite well and I make it brief:

level 5.1 is for mastering purposes, selecting this profile while encoding without using resolution more than 1920x1080 and high bitrate is basically useless. The correct way to enconde is in fact using level 4.1. Info on how to change the profle is on the link above.

Hi,

AVI is also a container format as MKV is - just be sure you are using supported codecs: http://www.supportforum.philips.com/...lu-ray-players
