HTS 8160B/12 after 3 years to be discarded?

i have an HTS 8160B/12 system, bought and installed during feb 2010. it has a blue ray feature which has been rarely used i must admit, however lately it stopped accepting and dvd's or blue ray discs, simple error message, "unknown disc".
ok so we sent the system to the philips repair shop in belgium and 2 days later i get the simple message, component no longer available, if you pay € 400 we can supply you with a replacement system HTB7150/12 ! So in 3 yrs time a € 1000 system is become obsolete, no spare parts and Philips thinks it is service to offer an inferior system as replacement while still paying extra?
And furthermore, they do not even tell me which part is broken, Not a good service Mr Philips.

Does anybody know if this system is still available anywhere on the market?

if you dont like the htb7150, maybe you can try finding another device like 9150/9100 and see wt is the bargain there

your issue seems to be a loader issue which is commonly concluded for 'unknown disc' error
if you send this to repair, i suspect the cost will not be low also
