    WAS7500 firmware upgrade

    I have asked this before (some time back, and never really got an answer) so thought I would ask again :-)

    I want to upgrade the firmware on my WAS7500 ... but it seems you need a WACS7500 to do this (and I have a MCi500H)

    When I go to the firmware upgrade page for the WAS7500 there is no option to load a new firmware ... It seems that the default behavior is to upgrade the WACS7500 and that presumably drives the WAS7500 upgrade (odd ...)

    Does anyone know if it is possible to upgrade the firmware for a WAS7500 *without* a WACS7500 ... ???

    I dug around in the BIN firmware file that ships with the WACS7500 and I can see that indeed it includes a WAS7500 firmware module ... so there is obviously some magic that the WACS7500 does to update the WAS7500 ... but as I don't have a WACS7500 that is not much use to me.

    I would be very happy if someone tells me how to do the upgrade without the WACS7500!

    It is perfectly possible to do what you want !
    I got FW version 1.31.0330 (I think it is) for the WAS7500 (extracted from a WAC7500 that makes the split of the WAC/WAS FW on its internal hard disk).
    I have sent you a PM with a link to the FW file. Please remember to not rename the file before trying to upload it via the FW upgrade page in the WASA7500.
