Question Playing movies with .idx/.sub subtitles from USB drive

I have recently purchased a 47PFL6007K/12 Smart TV (English user manual) and promptly updated to the latest firmware.

What I am trying to do with my Smart TV is to play a movie with external subtitles (.idx/.sub) using my USB device. Even though I activate the "show subtitles" option and select the .sub file I want to the played (subtitle named exactly as the video), the subtitles are not showed. I have also tried to modify the character encoding settings but without any success.

Please advice me on how to play .idx/.sub subtitles from my USB drive.

    Hi Satellite,

Could you please confirm the current software version installed on your TV?
If it is not the latest version, please try to update. You can find the latest update on the support website here:

    http://www.p4c.philips.com/cgi-bin/d...=47PFL6007K/12

Have you tried using a different subtitle format, such as .srt? Do you have the same issue with these?

File format .idx is not supported by your TV. You can find more info on the supported files and character encodings in the user manual on page 59 here:

    Best regards,
    Ina
