    Question Ambilight in 3D -pfl6877

    Hello

In 3D mode, the ambilight system work differently than 2D mode.

In 3D, when the screen is black or dark scene, ambilight is almost off.
    In 2D, ambilight is white.

    Is it normal ?

    (sorry for my english)

Exactly I have the same problem.

I prefer ambilight in 3D! But I does't find how use it in 2D.
I think it is impossible, unfortunately.

    Ambilight Setting

    hi philips,
    i'm owning a 55pfl8007 from 2012.

when the broadcast shows a complete dark screen and i set the al brightness to zero, there is still the white al color at maximum level.

if i switch the same picture to 3d convert then the al shows a complete different manner ?

is this a normal behavior ?
ps: i use a red wallet in the background, the color in picture 1 is white.

    regards

    Hi Westpaket,

I was in fact investigating this and collaborating with our technical expert.

I hope you don't mind, but for overview I have merged your thread with a previous thread raising the same issue.

I would like to ask for some additional information from any users experiencing this, please:

    • Full model number
    • Serial number (can be sent in PM if preferable)
    • Current software version installed
    • 3D depth settings
    • 3D player used (BDP / PC)
    • Ambilight settings
    • Any additional info relevant to Ambilight behaviour during 3D playback

If you would either reply in this thread or send me a PM with the info, that would be most helpful, so I can send the info on to development.

    Best regards,
    Ina

    Hi all,

Thank you guys for the information so far! Others, please continue to report if you are experiencing this as well.

GloWi, could you send me a PM with your Serial Number please? I can't forward this particular issue without this info.

To send a PM, click on my name in the left panel of this post and click on Private Message.

You can find the serial number on the barcode label on the back of your TV.

    Best regards,
    Ina

if you are using a wall mount, you can read the serial number by pressing 123654 in TV mode (internal tuner).

    Hello Ina.

    Thanks for your attention!

    Full model number: 46pfl8007k/12
Serial number: xxxxxxx send by PM
Current software version installed : 150.88
    3D depth settings: normal
    3D player used (BDP / PC): ps3/pc/TNT!
    Ambilight settings - dynamic: brigthness 10/dynamic 8

I hope your target is to modify 2D ambilight mode to 3D ambilight mode
