    Hebrew in 2013 Philips Tv's

    Hello,
It is true that the 2013 tv line supports hebrew?
I heard that there is hebrew menu and support in hebrew subtitles files.
Philips- can you tell me please if the next firmware of 2012 tvs (I owned 42PFL6007K/12) will have hebrew update?
    Thank you

    Benedickte, JuAn,
There is a chance to get hebrew support to 2012 tv line?
Finally, Philips has a hebrew support and we kindly asking to have it on our 2012 tvs. This will be so helpful for hebrew subtitles that we want so much and wish for.
Is it possible, can you please reply
Thank you and have a nice weekend!

    Hi NaC.

Unfortunately Hebrew is not and will not be supported in our 2012 TV sets as this requires major change, test, and release efforts. However, to prove that we do listen to our customers: we will start supporting Hebrew in some 2013 models (/K) later this year.

    Best regards.

Please clarify why it is so difficult to support Hebrew, Greek, Polish etc as this is usually just a different code page or character set.

Insisting in such a policy is good only for your competitors who implement all these languages from the beginning (even to their lower priced models).

    Benedickte,
Thank you very much for your response!
I think that the important thing is only the Hebrew subtitles support when watching movie through USB. If Philips can release only an updated to support Hebrew subtitles, all the Israeli market will be very thankful.
Please try to make efforts on this.
Thank you and have a nice weekend

You guys can go ahed and try this:

    1. Open the subtitles file with windows text editor
    2. Make sure the subtitles look good and in hebrew (if they arnt ur file is bad)
    3. File > Save as
    4. in the encoding section downstairs select UTF-8 (default ANSI which is bad)
    5. save the file and give it the same name of the video file with an *.srt ending

attempt to play it again on the TV.
