bdp 3280/05 does not recognise ethernet connection

I am using firmware 2.47 which I believe to be the latest version. The Ethernet cable is direct from the router to the player, it is recognised if plugged directly into the TV so I don't think that the cable is suspect. I have also tried connecting from the router to a TP Link adapter and from another TP link adapter to the bdp 3280 with different cables. Still the same problem that the connection is not recognised. Could the network adapter in the box be faulty?

    Hello chubtor!

For starters I would like to welcome you to the Philips Support Forum and thank you for reaching out to us.

Your firmware is the latest version available and you are most definitely right that it does not look like there is an issue with the cable. Can you connect to the Router wirelessly?

    Best regards,
    Philips - Katerina

All my other items connect wirelessly with no problem so I am hoping that this player will when your USB adapter arrives from Hong Kong. Won't know that until mid June. I am assuming that the ethernet connection on your box is knackered.

    Hello!

Think we will wait and see. Let me know what happens when the USB adapter arrives.

    Many regards,
    Philips - Katerina
