BDP8000/12 and Mac network problems
I have had severe problems when the Apple Airport Extreme router is sitting close to the BDP. I moved it to another room and the problem was solved. This also occurred with the older airport express (802.11G versions). Now I need to link wirelessly to the Airport Extreme and it takes very long to make a connection. My Panasonic VT20 TV does not have this problem at all. Anyone else with the same experience?

And when you connect wired what happens, does this make any difference?
Might try also to connect only the BDP to see what happens at this moment..
Good luck

My intention was to have the router close by so that I could have wired connections to the BDP and my Viera. Even when I had the UTP cables decoupled, my internet severely slowed down in speed . Only when I moved the Mac Extreme router to another room, the problem was solved. The Viera TV did not have this problem at all.

Usually when the BDP is wirelessly connected to the AP then there will be some speed impact to the network. Please double check if the BDP Wi-Fi setting is correct.
And regarding the slow time to make a connection, please post your AP setting details so that others can analyze.

Did you try with another router. I had issues with my streamium product aswel as my BDP with my old router ( cannot even remember which one it was ) but since I have my new one all works perfect and fast.
I would absolutely try to see what happens. Am not saying to buy a new one but just to test
Good luck!
