Set minumum and maximum backlight when using dynamic background diming

When a black screen contains white text the text is actually not white but gray when dynamic backlight dimming is enabled because it dims the back light to much. So I disabled it.

It would be nice to set a minimum and maximum level in order to get the best results.

    I disabled it.

    Option to disable menu animation

Menu animation is very cpu consuming making the menu's slow.

It would be nice if it can be disabled in order to get fast responsive menu's.

Amblilight 3; set different brightness level for top leds

The ambilight leds at the top are somewhat to bright in relation to the leds on the sides.

It would be nice to set a different brightnes for those leds.

    Agreed.

Dynamic backlight setting on "standard" worked better and correctly on earlier FW-versions. No idea why it's broken now.

On earlier firmware versions "standard" setting was much more subtle, making only very minor and subtle changes in back light. Just enough to get rid of clouding which can become visible on dark scenes.

Now dynamic backlight setting "standard" and "best picture" seem to do exactly the same thing.

The effect is way too drastic and changes backlight brightness way too intensively, in a manner that makes you pay attention to it constantly when watching content. It fluctuates too much. Especially noticeable when watching content with white subtitles.

Please fix this Philips development. Even back to the way it used to be.

    Hi JeroenSt.

I have merged your threads for overview purposes.

Also, please do include the model number for the TV you are commenting on as otherwise the feedback is mute.

    Thank you,

    Same here, on 40PFL8008S/12.
But I guess they made it so aggressive so it will mask the clouding/glare/spotlight effect in the corners.... If I disable it, the 4 spotlights reappear.
