Wifi Media Connect stopped working!! HELP!!

    Good Day,

I just bought a Philips Smart TV 39" CODE: 39PLF2608/F7 but I couldn't find the wifi media connect for this version in the following URL: http://www.wifimediaconnect.philips.com/ (see image 1 screenshot attached). Error Messages.xls

So I downloaded the Media Connect for versions 32" and 40", but none of them are working properly, the TV displays the image for about 2-3 seconds and then it displays the following mesage:
"The program stopped working properly because of a problem. Windows will close the program and will notify you if there exists a solution." (see image 2 screenshot attached.)

But Windows is not opening the problem solver, the mediaconnect just closes itself, I guess it is because I didn't installed the specific version for my TV, but could you please let me know where can I find the software for my TV?

I've already deactivated the Windows Firewall, I even deactivated the Antivirus temporarily and it didn't solve the problem.

I'm a little disappointed because this was one of the reasons why I bought the TV, the media connect feature is displayed outside in the box of the TV, but the software seems to not be available for this version.

I would really appreciate if you could please help me with this issue.

    Thanks In Advance

    Nestor

    Nestor,

Please check again right now, your model should be on the list. Also, I need more information about your PC to troubleshoot.

If you have Win 7 or 8, just do the following.

    1. Press "Windows Key + Pause/Break"
    2. Click on Windows Experience Index.
    3. Click on "View & Print Detailed System .. "
    4. Paste that information here.

Hi again and Thank You for your response,

I downloaded the right media connection version file this time, unfortunately I'm still facing the same issue,
    getting the following message:

"The program stopped working properly because of a problem. Windows will close the program and will notify you if there exists a solution." (see image 2 screenshot attached in previous message.)

But Windows is not opening the problem solver, the mediaconnect just closes itself.

I'm attaching the "Windows Experience Index"as requested in your response, I use Windows 7, in addition I forgot to mention in the previous message that there is also a Message displayed in the TV, which says: "Network Error-Connection Error NE[00203693]" and there is just an "OK" button.

Please let me know if there is something wrong with this functionality in my TV, I've read the requirements file and my laptop meets all the required specifications even the wifi is 802.11n .

    Thanks In advance.

    Nestor, try this:

    1. Uninstall any previous versions of MediaConnect, even the one you have. Go to Program Files (x86) and deleted the Program files related to it as well.

    2. Install the correct version you downloaded.

    3. Once installed, go to: C:\Program Files (x86)\Philips\Wi-Fi MediaConnect

    4. Right click on: Wi-Fi MediaConnect -> Compatibility -> Check "Run as Administrator".

    5. Make sure both your TV & Laptop are on the same wireless network.

    6. If any firewall message pops-up, give MediaConnect access to being a server, etc. etc. ... all it asks for.

    7. If you still have issues, try disconnecting your router form the internet, i.e. only TV & Laptop connected to router.

    8. In your TV, make sure TV is set as Renderer, ... on your laptop check to see if you can see TV in your Network as a renderer.

    9. If 8 is true, you should not have any issue.

    Hi again,

    Thanks for your quick response.

    I've followed all the steps:

    1- Done
    2- Done
    3- Done
    4- Done
5- They both are in the same network.
6- I gave permissions in the Firewall since the beggining.
7- I tried this as well with no luck.
8- The TV appears in the Network as "Other Device" ( see image attached)

The same issue is still happening, the image just lasts in the TV for around 3 seconds and then it displays the same error, I'm not sure if there is something else that can be done regarding this, is there a phone number that I could call from Mexico? I'm concerned because I think this TV is being sold only in USA by now, so I'm not sure if I could get assistance in Mexico.

Could you please help me to know what else can be done?

    Thanks In Advance.

    Hey Nestor,

There is a Customer Care center in Mexico but I doubt they will be able to help much.

The good thing is your PC is recognizing the TV, and the video is showing up for few seconds. Now we just need to figure out why the program is crashing.

Do you have any friends whose PC you can borrow to try it out on? Preferably a real Core2Duo or i5, i7 based PC.

Even though your PC is a 2.2 GHz dual core, it is a Pentium, so it has a limited instruction set, if you download CPU-Z from here http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html you will know what I am talking about.

Also, try opening Windows Media Player and use the "Play To" feature to play a video to the TV from there, see if that works.
